Victorian, circa 1874. 7.5ins high, 14ins wide, 8.7ins depth. Minton Majolica game pie dish with liner which features a mallard, rabbit and blackbird.
Colouration: brown, green, turquoise, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery.
Bears a pattern number, '668'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1874.

Condition
CONDITION: Cover: Good. No restoration.
KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage line to the base of the handle;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the exterior;
kiln grit caught in the glaze to the underside.
Liner: Generally good.
Crack to base.
Four hairlines to rim.
Staining from use.
RESTORATION. Filled chips to handle.
Dish: Good. No restoration.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the brown glaze;
craze lines to the interior.
