Gustafsberg Majolica dolphins & shell vase

Victorian, circa 1884. 9.4ins high, 4.7ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Gustafsberg Majolica vase which features three fish. Lilac ground version. Colouration: lilac, green, brown, are predominant.











The piece bears maker's marks for the Gustafsberg pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1884.

Condition

Good. KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the exterior;





glaze misses to the base rim.





RESTORATION: Section to rim reglued and join retouched. Stabilised and retouched hairline to rim.
