Gustafsberg Majolica dolphins & shell vase

Victorian, circa 1884. 9.4ins high, 4.7ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Gustafsberg Majolica vase which features three dolphins supporting a shell. Colouration: lilac, green, brown, are predominant.











The piece bears maker's marks for the Gustafsberg pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1884.

Condition

Good. Very slight wear to base.



KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks to one of the fish's tail





and to lower base edge.



RESTORATION: Stabilised and retouched hairline to rim. Two filled chips to rim,
four filled chips to lower base edge. Section of rim reattached and join retouched.
