Victorian, circa 1890. 10.4ins high, 10.4ins wide, 2ins depth. Avelino Soares Bello Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features loquots and leaves. Colouration: green, yellow, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Avelino Soares Bello pottery.

Condition
CONDITION: Generally good. Some small flakes to tip of branch,
edge of two leaves,
front of another leaf,
rim and foot rim.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to two of the loquots;
shrinkage crack to stalk of one loquot and base and tip of one leaf;
cloudiness to the glaze to the brown ground.
RESTORATION: Filled and retouched chips, one to plate rim and one to leaf edge.
Retouched flakes to three of the leaves.
