Large George Jones Majolica Neptune centrepiece
Victorian, circa 1870. 15.6ins high, 11.4ins wide, 10.2ins depth. George Jones Majolica centrepiece bowl which features Neptune holding a shell above his head accompanied by a dolphin. Colouration: turquoise, purple, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery. Bears a pattern number, '3262'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1870.

Condition
Good. KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the exterior of shell;
a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the base.
RESTORATION: Filled chip to rim of shell.
End of dolphin's tail reglued and join retouched.
