George Jones Majolica fox dish with white ground
Victorian, circa 1870. 3.7ins high, 10ins wide, 8.7ins depth. George Jones Majolica dish which features a fox on one side, with maple leaves to the interior.
White ground version.
Colouration: white, green, ochre, are predominant.
Bears a pattern number, '2272'.
English diamond registration mark for the date ?/03/1869.

Condition
Good. Flake to fox's tail.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the interior;
a couple of shrinkage cracks to the interior and across fox's tail.
RESTORATION: Left ear reglued and join retouched.
Filled chip to right ear.
