Pair Brownfield Majolica lady&gent with basket figures
Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 13.2ins high, 5.1ins wide, 4.1ins depth. Pair of Brownfield Majolica vases which feature a peasant man and woman carrying large wicker baskets on their backs.
Colouration: ochre, grey, puce, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Brownfield pottery.
Bears a pattern number, '2014 and 5/76 (on lady only)'.

Condition
CONDITION: Male: Very good. No restoration.
Small flake to his moustache.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to his apron;
thin glaze application to the front of the base;
glaze run to the base at reverse.
Female: Good.
Slight wear to her hands.
Scratches to side of base;
shallow firing crack to the rim of the basket.
RESTORATION: Filled chips to her bonnet,
base
and rim of basket.
