WMF Silver Plated Lockable Jewel Casket

Circa 1910. 9.5ins by 5.5ins, 6.25ins high. WMF silver plated jewel casket, with lining, hinged lid, and working lock and key. Handle to either side. Six feet to base.

















Maker's marks impressed '5' to inside of box,



'B', WMF ostrich logo, 'I/O' and 'OX' to underside, and raised mark '45' to underside.





Similar piece illustrated on page 298, 'Art Nouveau Domestic Design from Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik' published by the 'Antique Collectors Club'.

Condition

Good. No restoration. Some tarnishing.



A couple of light scratches above the keyhole to the cover,



and one to the cover edge at the front.



A few light stains to the lining.
