Alcock Staffordshire sheep figure

pre-Victorian, circa 1830. 2.2ins high, 2.8ins wide, 2ins depth. Alcock Staffordshire porcellaneous figure with a pastoral theme which features a sheep, recumbent on a rock shaped base.

White and gilt version. Dull gilt base line.



Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.



Maker's marks to the underside.





Book reference not found.

Condition

Good. No restoration.

Very small chip to tip of sheep's right ear.



Minor abrasion to sheep's nose.



Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the reverse.
