Staffordshire woman with girl,bird&dog figure group

Victorian, circa 1860. 7.1ins high, 4.7ins wide, 2.6ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a woman, child, dog and bird, stood on an oval base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.







Decorated mainly to the front.



Vent hole to the underside.



Book reference not found.

Condition

Good.

Minor paint loss to woman's right cheek.



Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the front



and reverse;



thin glaze application and running to the cobalt glaze;



flecks of stray coloured glaze to the front



and reverse.



RESTORATION: Child's right foot remodelled.



Retouched paint losses to the woman's dress,



hand



and shoe.
