Mini Pair Staffordshire recumbent sheep

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 2ins high, 2.9ins wide, 1.8ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures with a pastoral theme which feature sheep: a ram and ewe, recumbent on a shaped base.



White and gilt version. Dull gilt base line.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

CONDITION: Ewe: Generally good.

Some rubbing to gilt.



Some wear to the muzzle.



KILN EFFECTS: staining to the reverse;



over glazed shrinkage line to the reverse.



RESTORATION. Remodelled left front leg.



Right front leg reglued and join retouched.



Ram: Generally good.

Small chip to base at reverse.





Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: small firing pit to the muzzle;



staining to the reverse.



RESTORATION. Remodelled right front leg.



Retouching to left front leg.
