Pearlware Staffordshire stag figure with bocage

pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 8.3ins high, 6.7ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Staffordshire pearlware bocage figure which features a stag, stood on a shaped base. Multi-coloured version.



Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition

Good. Chips to leaves and flowers of bocage and small chip to lower base edge at reverse.





A few paint losses to stag's back and tail.







RESTORATION: reglued and retouched sections to antlers and trunk of bocage tree.





Retouched chips and flakes to lower base edge,







leaves and flowers and stag's left shoulder.
