Staffordshire spaniel & girl inkwell
Victorian, circa 1860. 4.3ins high, 4.7ins wide, 2.2ins depth. Staffordshire inkwell which features a girl beside a spaniel, seated on a shaped base.
Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Maker's marks painted to the underside.

Condition
CONDITION: Good.
Small flakes to lower base edge.
A few paint losses to reverse of hat.
A few slight abrasions to girl's skirt.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chip to lower base edge;
shrinkage line along the mold join to girl
and dog;
craze lines to the underside and left side of base.
RESTORATION. Retouching to dog's muzzle and markings,
girl's hair and shoes.
Filled chip to base next to girl's right shoe.
