Staffordshire No.2 russet&white Spaniel

Victorian, circa 1860. 9.8ins high, 6.3ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base. Russet and white version. Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front.





Vent hole to the reverse.



Maker's marks no.2 molded into the underside.

Condition

Good. No restoration.

Very slight rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: glaze accumulation to the lower base edge at reverse;



kiln grit caught in the glaze to the underside and reverse;





kiln soot caught in the glaze to the reverse;



piece of kiln detritus caught inside causing piece to rattle.
