Staffordshire spaniel with game bird spill vase

Victorian, circa 1860. 7.1ins high, 6.9ins wide, 3.1ins depth.

Staffordshire spill vase which features a spaniel with game bird in front of a spill vase, recumbent on an oval base. Multi-coloured version.

Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Tight hairline to spill.

Some small flakes to ground.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;

over glazed shrinkage lines to the reverse;

touch mark to the tail.

RESTORATION. Retouching to front of spill, dog's eye, eyebrows, nose and to bird.
