Staffordshire 'Giselle' dancing lady figure
Victorian, circa 1860. 10.2ins high, 4.5ins wide, 3ins depth.
Staffordshire figure with a theatrical and literary theme which features Giselle, stood on a circular base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the reverse.
This piece represents the ballet 'Giselle ou Les Wilis'.

Condition
Good. A few paint losses to pink trim on left leg, right shoe and flower in her hair.



Some rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: small firing pits to reverse;

over glazed shrinkage lines to her right leg.

RESTORATION. Retouching to skirt at reverse, hair, hat and pink detailing.
