Pair Large Staffordshire white&gilt cats

Victorian, circa 1890. Tallest is 13.2ins high, 8.1ins wide, 3.9ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a cat, seated directly on the ground, no base.
White and gilt version.



Bright gilt embellishment.





Flatback, decorated only to the front.







Vent holes to reverse and underside.

Condition

Right facing: Good. No restoration.

A few minor paint losses to face.



Rubbing to gilt.





KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to the reverse;





three small touch marks to the reverse.





Left facing: Good. No restoration.

Small paint loss to right eye.



Some rubbing to gilt.





Some wear and slight scratching to the reverse.
