Pair Staffordshire spaniel spill vases

Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 13.4ins high, 7.9ins wide, 3.7ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire spill vases which feature a spaniel, seated on an oval base. White and gilt version. Bright gilt base line and embellishment.







Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

Condition

Right facing: Good. Rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the inside of spill and top of spaniel's head;





very slight staining to the crazing on the reverse of the spill vase.



RESTORATION: Retouching to ground.



Stabilised and retouched hairline to the reverse, along the bottom.



Left facing: Good. Rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: staining to the reverse;



notable crazing;



slight staining to the crazing on the reverse.
