Staffordshire hen on nest tureen

Victorian, circa 1860. 7.1ins high, 8.3ins wide, 6.3ins depth. Staffordshire egg tureen and cover which features a hen, resting on an oval base. Multi-coloured version.







Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Hen: Good. No restoration.

Small flake to the left wing.



A few paint losses to feathers



and ground.





KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks to the interior of cover;



over glazed chip to the tail.



Nest: Good. No restoration.

Small chip to flange.



KILN EFFECTS: bruise to the flange.
