Pair Staffordshire legs free seated pugs

Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 9.4ins high, 5.1ins wide, 6.7ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a seated pug with front legs molded free, seated directly on the ground, no base.

Bright gilt embellishment.







Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.



Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

Right facing: Good. No restoration.

A few paint losses to paws.



Gilt almost entirely rubbed away.



Slight wear to muzzle.



Left facing: Generally good.

A few paint losses to paws.





Flake below mouth.



Gilt almost entirely rubbed away.



Slight wear to muzzle.



KILN EFFECTS: small firing pit to left ear.



RESTORATION: right front leg reglued and join retouched.
