Staffordshire cow & milkmaid figure
Victorian, circa 1860. 6.8ins high, 8.1ins wide, 3ins depth.
Staffordshire group with a pastoral theme which features a cow with a milkmaid sitting on a stool, stood on a shaped base. Russet and white version.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

Condition
CONDITION: Good. Slight rubbing to gilt
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack around base of stool, to ears under cow's neck;
a couple of firing pits to cow's rump at reverse;
shrinkage line between cow's front legs;
touch mark and kiln detritus to reverse;
notable crazing.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to base front.
Filled chip to hat.
Retouching to paint losses.
