Staffordshire Musician with Peacocks Clock Group

Victorian, circa 1860. 11.6ins high, 6.5ins wide, 2.2ins depth. Staffordshire clock group with a musical theme which features a boy holding a musical instrument, with two peacocks by his side, seated on an oval base.



Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated only to the front.



Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

Good. No restoration.

Some paint losses to the ground and peacocks.







Very slight rubbing to gilt.



Some wear to the reverse.







KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack under one peacock and one to mold join to the other peacock;







smudge of stray coloured glaze to the reverse of boys head;



a few specks of kiln soot caught in the glaze to the reverse
.
