Small Staffordshire black horse spill vase
Victorian, circa 1860. 6.25ins high, 5ins wide, 2.3ins depth.
Staffordshire spill vase which features a horse in front of a tree, stood on a shaped base. Jackfield black version. Dull gilt embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition
Generally good. Some paint losses to ground.
KILN EFFECTS: firing pit to reverse of spill;
kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the base front;
small touch mark to horse's hindquarters on both sides.
RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.
Retouching to horse, spill and ground.
