Pair Staffordshire equestrian figures

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 6.9ins high, 5.5ins wide, 2.6ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures with a sporting theme which feature a lady and gent on horseback, stood on an oval base.



Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front.

Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition

Female: Good. Minor abrasion to girl's nose.



Some small flakes to horse's left knee and to reverse of girl's hat.







Slight rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: pieces of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the horse's left hind thigh and to the reverse.





RESTORATION. Retouching to front of girl's hat.



Male: Generally good. Slight rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the horse's stomach.



RESTORATION. Boy's head reglued and join retouched.





Retouching to boy's face and hat.



Stabilized and retouched hairlines to horse's hind right leg and to ground running round to the reverse.
