Pair Staffordshire lady & gent with goat figures
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 15ins high, 6.5ins wide, 3.7ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures with a pastoral theme
which feature a lady and gent holding a pot of fruit. A goat stands on its hind legs to one side, stood on an oval base.

Multi-coloured version. Black painted base line. Flatback, decorated only to the front.



Vent hole to the underside.

Book reference not found.
Condition
Female: Good.
Abrasion to goat's tail.

Paint loss to base line.

Slight wear.


KILN EFFECTS: over glazed flake to lower base edge;

shrinkage cracks to her waist and mold joins to both sides;



shrinkage line to lower base edge;

touch mark to lady's chin;

a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the upper base


and reverse;

slight staining to goat;



a few firing pits.



RESTORATION. Retouched nose.

Filled chip to base edge at reverse.

Male: Good.
Some wear and flakes.


KILN EFFECTS: firing crack to the mold join to one side;


a few specks of kiln detritus and kiln grit caught in the glaze to the upper base;

firing hole to side of jacket;

two over glazed flakes to lower base edge.

Manufacture fault to gent's neck.

RESTORATION. Retouched nose.
