Pair Staffordshire 'Home & Harvester' figures
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 11.8ins high, 8.1ins wide, 3ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures with a pastoral theme which feature a girl and boy on horseback carrying sheaves of corn, stood on a shaped base.

The pieces are titled, 'Home and Harvest' to the fronts. Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Maker's marks to the underside of one.

Condition
Right facing: Generally good.
Two hairlines, one to each of the horse's right hooves.


Some rubbing to gilt.


KILN EFFECTS: a few shrinkage lines and a cracks to the front and reverse;



a few pieces of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the reverse.

RESTORATION. Old retouching to hair, hay, shoes and horse's right eye.




Old restoration to stabilize and retouch hairline to horse's mane just in front of girl's left leg.

Left facing: Generally good.
Some rubbing to gilt.


KILN EFFECTS: kiln grit caught in the glaze to the underside of the base;


kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the reverse;

shrinkage crack to the front;

craze lines.


RESTORATION. Old restored hairline to leftside mold line and to an area to the reverse.


Old retouching to horse's face, hay and coat button.
