Staffordshire Drummer Boy with spaniels
Victorian, circa 1860. 6.3ins high, 4.7ins wide, 2ins depth. Staffordshire group with a musical theme which features
a drummer boy with two spaniels,
stood on a shaped base.
Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

Condition
Generally good.
Small flake to base rim at reverse.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze accumulation to the reverse;
notable crazing;
tiny glaze pops to the cobalt jacket.
RESTORATION. neck reglued and join retouched.
Stabilized and retouched cracks to boy's left leg
and right leg, where leg joins kennel roof.
Filled chip to reverse of hat.
Retouching to both dogs markings
and smaller dog's nose and ears,
boy's nose,
hair,
shoes
and drum.
