Staffordshire zebra figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 6.4ins high, 4.9ins wide, 2.6ins depth.





Staffordshire figure which features a zebra, stood on an oval base.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Tight hairline with associated flake to front left leg.



Small chip to the shredded clay.



Some paint losses to the ground.







Very slight wear to zebra's mouth.



KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;





kiln grit caught in the glaze to the zebra's side;



shrinkage lines to the underside.



RESTORATION. Retouched flake behind hind right leg.



Ears reglued and joins retouched.





Front right leg reglued and join retouched.
