Staffordshire Falconer with setter figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 15ins high, 6.7ins wide, 3.1ins depth.
Staffordshire figure with a sporting theme which features a falconer holding a colorful bird,
his setter seated next to him, stood on an oval base.





Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.
Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration.
Some paint losses to ermine edge on cape, boots, dog' markings and muzzle.













Some rubbing to gilt.





KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the falconer's neck;



a few specks of kiln soot caught in the glaze to the ground, hat, face, collar and tassles;









shrinkage line to dog's neck at reverse;



flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse and to his right leg;





glaze pop to the russet markings on the dog.
