Matched Pair Mini Staffordshire elephants
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 3ins high, 2.8ins wide, 1.5ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature an elephant, stood on an oval base. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent hole to the underside.

Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Generally good. KILN EFFECT: small firing pit to back leg;
shrinkage crack along the mold join to back.
RESTORATION. Filled chips to base.
Left facing: Generally good. Tiny abrasion to trunk.
KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the ground and base;
speck of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the ground.
RESTORATION. Reglued and join retouched around the legs where the elephant has been off the base.
Filled chips and firing hole to base,
and filled chip to elephant's left eye.
Stabilized and retouched hairlines to base.
