Staffordshire Prince Alfred figure
Victorian, circa 1860. 10.4ins high, 5.3ins wide, 2.9ins depth. Staffordshire figure with a royalty theme which features Prince Alfred beside a chair,
a sword in his hand, stood on an oval base. The piece is titled, 'PR.ALFRED' .
Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.
Vent hole to the reverse.
This piece represents Prince Alfred, the son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

Condition
Generally good.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of stray coloured glaze to his face;
a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the ground between his feet;
shrinkage line along the mold join to inside of left leg.
RESTORATION: Head reglued and join retouched.
Stabilized and retouched hairline to his coat running to his trousers.

and his hair
and shoes.
