Pair Staffordshire boy with girl on horseback figures

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 13ins (33 cm) high, 9.4ins (24 cm) wide, 3.1ins (8 cm) depth.




Pair of Staffordshire figures with a childhood theme which feature a girl on horseback with a
boy standing in front of the horse, stood on on an oval base.



Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated only to the

front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Overall: Left facing: Generally good

Some small flakes to upper base edge


Minor paint losses to to green girth, flower garland, orange skirt and lady's hair



 

Some rubbing to gilt



 

Kiln effects: glaze miss to base

Stabilized and retouched shrinkage crack to reverse of lady's waist. Reattched lady's head and

Retouching to lady's face, hair and front of hat.


Filled chip to back of hat.

Stabilized and retouched crack to underside, base and between horse's front legs.

Stabilized and retouched shrinkage line between horse's back legs, and to the back of lady's waist.
