Pair Staffordshire recumbent spaniels with children

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 7.1ins (18 cm) high, 6.5ins (16.5 cm) wide, 3.1ins (8 cm) depth.

Pair of Staffordshire figures with a childhood theme which feature a boy and girl seated on spaniels, recumbent on a shaped base.
The pieces have possibly been matched together at some stage. We think this because they have different colouration.

Russet and white version. Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated in the round with decoration to the front and the reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

Book reference,'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding, page 152, figure 2270.
