Pair Staffordshire russet & white spaniels

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 9.8ins high, 6.7ins wide, 4.3ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature spaniels, seated directly on the ground, no base.







Russet and white version. Dull gilt embellishment.





Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Right facing: Generally good.

Minor paint losses to muzzle.



Some rubbing to gilt.



Kiln effects: touch mark to left ear;



a few specks of kiln soot caught in the glaze to the front and reverse.







Retouching and old restoration to tail.





Left facing: Generally good.

Small flake to top of left ear.



Kiln effects: touch mark to tail;



shrinkage line to the front base edge;



overglazed bruise to the tail;



glaze run to the reverse.
