Staffordshire hen on basket tureen

Early 20thC. 7.5ins high, 6.9ins wide, 10.2ins depth. Staffordshire egg tureen and cover which features a hen with her eggs, resting on a basketweave oval base.



Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition

Hen: Good. No restoration.

A few paint losses to wattle.



KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the feathers;







over glazed shrinkage lines to the interior.



Nest: Fair.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the inner rim.



RESTORATION: reglued sections to base and sides.
