Date cipher for 1903. 17ins diameter, 12.5ins high. Minton Secessionist No. 17 jardiniere.



Bulbous form, decorated with stylized trees and black tube linings. Ochre ground with green, blue and brown glazes.



Ochre interior.



Three stilt marks interior and underside. Maker's marks including printed 'MINTONS LTD NO.17' and impressed 'MINTONS', '2732' and date cipher for 1903, all to underside.

Condition

Good. Star hairline to side.





Slight wear to interior and exterior.









Kiln effects: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the interior;



notable crazing;



some shrinkage cracks to the base on interior and to the tube linings;







glaze pops to the exterior and base rim;







staining to underside.



Stabilized and retouched hairline and crack to rim.









Filled chip to rim.





Retouched flake to rim.
