George IV, dated 1827. 11.5ins high by 8ins wide. 1827 'For my dear Mother' Sampler by Anne Smith. Framed in an old wood frame with gilt slip and glass.

Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.

The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch throughout.

Divider lines in various patterns.

Colours greens, gold, copper and cream.

Verse reads

'Who evermore saves us

By shedding his blood

All hail holy Jesus

Our Lord and our God'

'For my dear Mother'.

Signed and dated

'Ann Smith 1827'.

A few motifs including potted flowering plants,

fruit baskets,

acorns,

birds and a crown.

CONDITION: Good.

Some small holes.

Pale staining to the top section.

Some stitch losses to two of the divider lines.

Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run. Neatly and evenly stretched.

Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
