Majolica Palissy-style Fish & Bulrushes Plate

Victorian, circa 1890. 9.1ins high, 9.1ins wide, 0.9ins depth. Palissy Majolica plate which features three fish swimming amongst bulrushes and shells.
Colouration: pale blue, yellow, brown, are predominant.

CONDITION: Good.

Wear to the high points of the molding.





KILN EFFECTS: a couple of specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the front;





glaze miss to the rim;







flecks of stray coloured glaze to the front.



RESTORATION: stabilised and retouched crack to rim (still visible to under rim).
