Victorian, circa 1870. 7.5ins high, 11.2ins wide, 8.3ins depth. George Jones Majolica game pie dish which features a hare lying on a bed of ferns.
Colouration: brown, green, ochre, are predominant.

Condition
Cover: Good. KILN EFFECT: glaze miss to one acorn;

faint, over glazed shrinkage line to the rim.


RESTORATION: filled chip to rim;

stabilised and retouched crack from the rim to the centre.


Liner: Generally good. Wear to the base.

Staining from use.

KILN EFFECT: notable crazing.

RESTORATION: filled chip to rim.


Dish: Good: Some small flakes to the rim,

inner rim

and flange.


Wear to the underside.

KILN EFFECTS: piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the interior.

RESTORATION: retouched flakes to ochre rim.
