Gustafsberg Majolica fish pitcher

Victorian, circa 1880. 9.4ins high, 5.9ins wide, 4.5ins depth. Gustafsberg Majolica jug/pitcher which features an open-mouthed fish on a shell and seaweed base.



Colouration: grey, turquoise, brown, are predominant.







The piece bears maker's marks for the Gustafsberg pottery.

Two tight hairlines to the rim.





KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to the lower base edge;



overglazed shrinkage line along the mold join to both sides;





notable crazing.
