Palissy Majolica snake, toad & insect platter

Victorian, circa 1890. 9.3ins high, 9.3ins wide, 2.8ins depth.



Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a toad with a snake over its back. Brown ground version. Colouration: brown, green, black, are predominant.



The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

CONDITION: Good. Some small flakes to shredded clay.
