Victorian, circa 1875. 4.1ins high, 9.3ins wide, 7.1ins depth. George Jones Majolica sardine box which features fish and seaweed. Colouration: brown, green, turquoise, are predominant.













The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery.

Dish: Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing to interior.



RESTORATION. Filled chip to dish rim





and one to the base rim.



Stabilised and retouched hairline to base rim (still slightly visible).



Cover: Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the underside.



RESTORATION. Remodelled piece to one fish's tail.
