Minton Majolica 'Quaker Man' Toby jug
Victorian, circa 1867. 11ins high, 5.1ins wide, 6.3ins depth.
Minton Majolica jug which features a Quaker.
Colouration: cobalt blue, ochre, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery.
Bears a pattern number, '1140'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for November 1867.

Condition
Good. Slight wear to coat.
KILN EFFECTS: two small firing pits to right knee;
a few small shrinkage cracks to both hair bows;
glaze pops to the interior;
a couple of shrinkage lines to mold joins to the hat;
kiln grit caught in the glaze to the hair at front;
glaze run to the hat.
RESTORATION. Retouching to the rim of his tricorn.
Filled chip to the base edge.
