George Jones majolica sardine dish and cover
Victorian, circa 1870. 4.3ins high, 7.9ins wide, 6.9ins depth.
George Jones Majolica sardine box which features a sardine laying on a bed of reeds forming the lid and a wicker basket forming the dish.
Brown ground version. Colouration: green, turquoise, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery.

Cover: Very good. No restoration.
Slight wear to rim and fish.
KILN EFFECTS: stilt marks to the underside.
Dish: Good. No restoration.
