Large Majolica sacrifice scene pitcher with lid

Victorian, circa 1900. 14.4ins high, 7.9ins wide, 7.1ins depth. Majolica jug/pitcher with lid which features an frieze, showing an ancient ceremony. Colouration: green, blue, ochre, are predominant.









Bears a pattern number, '5S'.

Condition

Generally good. Some wear to the lid.





KILN EFFECTS: over glazed bruise to the ochre rim below the handle.



RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to upper level of base.
