George Jones Majolica Egyptian-style Sphinx Bowl

Victorian, circa 1875. 5.9ins high, 8.8ins wide, 3.9ins depth. George Jones Majolica figural bowl with a mythological theme which features two Egyptian sphinxes seated on a mottled oval base supporting a bowl with their wings and their heads.

Colouration: cobalt blue, ochre, white, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery. Bears a pattern number, '2170'.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to rim.

Filled chip to rim.
