The sampler features a wonderful pictorial panel with a countryside theme.
A lady and gentleman (possibly a shepherd and shepherdess) sit under trees, in a country landscape with their sheep and a dog.
There is a cottage in the background. Clouds and birds in the sky.
Framed in an old copper gilded wood frame with a geometric pattern.
Rippled, old glass.
Mounting: The sampler is tacked to a wood stretcher frame. Frame backed with card and sealed with tape.
CONDITION: Good. A number of small holes.

A larger hole in the bottom left hand border.
A pale stain in the bottom border.
No stitch losses other than to the holed areas.
Colours are mostly good and strong. No colour run.
Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame has a couple of the patterned areas chipped off, but is otherwise sound.
