
Circa 1880. 13ins high, 16.5ins wide, 12.8ins depth. French Palissy Majolica footed jardiniere, which features branch handles with snakes coiled around.
The sides of the bowl have applied flowers, leaves, moths,
lizards and shells.
The foot of the planter has a pair of frogs and tortoises.
Colouration: cobalt blue, green, yellow, are predominant.
CONDITION: Good. Wear to the bottom of the interior of the bowl from use.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to the bottoms of the snakes tails;
glaze pops to the foot and where bowl joins foot.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to the rim.
