Circa 1890. 9.3ins high, 9.3ins wide, 2ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plaque which features Three fish and two eels laying on leaves. Shellfish around the border.

Brown ground version.

Colouration: brown, ochre, green, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

CONDITION: Good. RESTORATION. Two filled chips to the rim.

Stabilised and retouched crack to eel neck.

Retouched flake to eel back.

Filled chips to the foot rim on the reverse.
