
Circa 1880. Tallest is 9.1ins high, 9.1ins wide, 1.2ins depth. Pair of Brard French Palissy Majolica plates which feature fish and seashells placed out on a white ground.
One of the plates, unusually, also features a langoustine.
Hand painted, blue-glazed geometric borders around the edges.
Colouration: white, blue, yellow, are predominant.
CONDITION: Plate 1: Good. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to one fish's tail;
small firing pits to the fish.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to one fish's tail fin.
Plate 2: Good. KILN EFFECTS: patchy glaze application to the langoustine.
RESTORATION. One langoustine antenna remodelled.
